Listening and care
A thoughtful and supportive approach
Maria Carolina is a Psychologist and Psychotherapist with over 24 years of clinical experience, working with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of emotional and psychological issues.
Her clinical experience includes supporting people with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity and belonging, and other challenges that can leave people feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
Understanding patterns
Psychodynamic therapy
Her therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, with a strong emphasis on attentive listening, emotional understanding, and exploring the patterns that may shape the way we think, feel, relate to others, and experience our lives.
She believes that therapy begins with creating a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where each person can feel genuinely heard and understood.
Clinical and academic work
Clinical and academic experience
Alongside her clinical practice, Maria Carolina spent ten years as a university lecturer and clinical placement supervisor, supporting psychology students throughout their clinical training.
This experience further developed her ability to listen carefully, understand different perspectives, and approach clinical work with depth, sensitivity and care.
New possibilities
Understanding creates freedom
Maria sees psychotherapy as an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, make sense of what you are experiencing, and gain greater freedom in the way you live, relate and make choices.
